YSG Residency 2024

You are the last of your line, my love, and there will be no more after you.”

excerpt from “80°: The Shepherds’ Curse” – Bramble Heinrich-McPartlan

An exhibition with Yarra Sculpture Gallery in February and March of 2024, this work explored the (government-funded and relatively recent) extinction of thylacinus cynocephalus, the Tasmanian Tiger.

A surreal image of a Tasmanian Tiger fading into the background. Its colours are distorted, with the inside of its mouth blue and green, its stripes teal, and its feet and back disappearing in patches into a pink and teal backdrop.
The Fever Dream – gouache on cotton watercolour paper
The Shepherds’ Feast – mixed media sculpture
The Last Martyr – soft pastel on treated card
The Bargain – gouache on cotton watercolour paper
